Share the original link!
Unfortunately, your blog isn’t a ‘publish and they will come’ kind of deal. You do need to promote it! So many people wonder why, when they’ve posted a blog no one visits it. Yet, when you ask if they’ve shared the link to it on their social media accounts, they look surprised that you’ve even suggested it. Share that link everywhere!
Pull out the tips
It’s super-easy and quick, to go through a blog post, pulling out useful tips and phrases. I usually open a Notepad document right before I start writing a blog post. That way, I can simply copy and paste in interesting bits into the Notepad document as I go.
Why not see how many you can get out of each blog post? Aim for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10, for starters. Then it’s up to you, if you use them in a Canva template or if you simply post them as status updates on the different social media platforms.
Create some quote graphics
Whilst you have that Notepad document open, why not also copy and paste some short quotes, facts and insights from your blog? I find it’s quicker to save them with the tips in one document, and then batch creating graphics in Canva, afterwards. Simply create yourself a Canva template, switch out the colours and/or images as needed, and paste in the text!
Quick tip – Duplicate the template for each new blog post, renaming it with the blog post name. Open this new document and create new pages within it, for the amount of graphics you want to create. This makes it super-easy to find the graphics when you’re scheduling them later!
Rewrite as separate posts on social media
Another simple way to repurpose blog content, is to carve it up into shorter posts or notes, for social media. This is especially suited for those longer blog posts you may write (1,000+ words). If you’re feeling really adventurous, take those long blog posts and carve them into 2 or 3 new, smaller blogs. Then take those smaller blogs, and create social media posts from each of them.
Create an infographic

Not only does it show you what you need to do, it also gives you a list of free and paid tools to use. If you’re looking to just get started, I’d recommend using Canva – as there’s a good chance you’re already familiar with it!

Don’t settle for sharing just once!
The golden rule for any blog and social media content? Share it more than once! Create a campaign for each of your blog posts, so each one is shared 6-8 times over a six month period. Get into the habit of switching out the description and call to action (CTA) or trying a different image, when you share your blog URL. You’ll be surprised at how these simple changes can make a difference to the likeability of your link – and there’s more chances to get fresh eyes on it.
